Another lovely reminder of the amazing community spirit in Bath

This year we were delighted to sponsor a heart warming Christmas card initiative from the Bath Open Christmas and BANES 3SG Compassionate Communities team.
Bath Open Christmas is the team of volunteers behind the annual Christmas Day lunch at Kingswood School. For many years local people who would otherwise spend the day alone have been invited to enjoy Christmas day together thanks to the fantastic bunch of volunteers who work round the clock to make it a day to remember.
As events in 2020 are out of the question, it’s not been possible to invite everyone this year. So the team got together with local school children who designed and wrote Christmas cards to cheer up people in our community who may be spending this festive season alone.
And we’ve been bowled over to hear that the volunteers and other local businesses have come together to go one step further and deliver Christmas meals to those individuals who would otherwise have been enjoying Bath Open Christmas hospitality on Christmas day.
The catering team at Wessex Water will be making Christmas lunches which will be delivered to the door by the Bath Open Christmas team of volunteer drivers, along with festive treats provided by Thoughtful Bakery and the Bath branches of Morrisons and Sainsbury’s. Happy Christmas everyone!
