Dementia Friends workshops for Members
Posted on 2nd August 22
Bath Building Society is reintroducing its face-to-face Dementia Friends information session for Members following a break during the extended lockdown period. The first free morning session will take place at the Society’s Queen Square head office on Thursday 15th September.
Jane Cox is Bath Building Society’s Dementia Friends Champion and delivers regular training to the Society’s employees as part of their work towards becoming a Dementia Friendly organisation. Talking about the session for Members, Jane said:
“Through our work with Dementia Friends it’s clear that people often don’t know how to best support loved ones living with dementia, or where to go for help. Our customers are interested in Bath Building Society’s work towards becoming a Dementia Friendly organisation and so we had the idea to extend the information sessions to our Members.”
“The Dementia Friends information session is relevant to everyone as we’re all likely to come across people living with dementia. There’s a lot we can do to make a positive difference to people living with dementia. No action is too big or too small. From visiting someone you know with dementia to being more patient in a shopping queue. People with dementia can live well, but to be able to do so they need support and understanding from those around them.”
Kevin Gray, CEO of Bath Building Society, said, “We’re committed to becoming a dementia friendly organisation and aim to offer compassionate customer support to everyone. When you’re living with dementia, managing money can become more complicated. Please don’t hesitate to ask us for help if you’re worried about dementia and your finances.”
