Congratulations to the winners of the Bath Rotary Fireworks Safety poster competition

Children from 40 schools in the Bath area entered this year’s Fireworks Safety Poster competition sponsored by Bath Building Society and supported by The Rotary Club of Bath.  The winners of the five categories were given a monetary voucher to open a Bath Building Society Junior account, an art set and a Bath Building Society goody bag.

Age 4-5 Group:

1. Archie Biddell – St. John’s Catholic School

2. Oscar Steer – Oldfield Park Infants School

3. Erik David – St.Mary’s Catholic Primary School

Age 6-7 Group:

1. Fred Baker – Bathwick St.Mary Church School

2. Forest Moon – Weston All Saints Primary School

3. Obie Addis Power – St.Mary’s Catholic Primary School

Age 8-9 Group:

1. Ivy Dickinson – St. Stephen’s Primary School

2.Sophie Ollis – Bathwick St. Mary Church School

3. Hudson Davies – St. John’s Catholic Primary School

Age 10+ Group:

1. The 1st placed winner chose no publicity

2. Kenneth Hassell – St. Stephen’s Primary School

3. Leela Doshi – St. Andrews C of E School

Special Schools Group:

1. Bethany Shreeves – Three Ways School

2. Miah Dubleton-Rawlings – Three Ways School

3. Kaylum Rawlings -Three Ways School

The overall winner of the competition was Fred Baker from Bathwick St Mary Church School.

The posters were judged on the fireworks safety message and artistic merit. The judges for this year’s competition were Councillor Rob Appleyard, Mayor of Bath, two members of staff from Avon Fire & Rescue Service, Rodney Hodgman from The Rotary Club of Bath and Kevin Gray and Tiffany Hardie-Albutt from Bath Building Society.

All the children who entered the competition have been given a Free Child Voucher that can be exchanged for a ticket to the Display when purchasing an Adult ticket. The Fireworks Display will take place on Saturday 5th November this year at The Recreation Ground.
