Winning designs sparkle in firework safety poster competition, sponsored by Bath Building Society.

The Rotary Club of Bath has been organising the competition in local schools for more than 40 years and Bath Building Society sponsored the popular competition again this year.

The competition, which sees children in schools in and around Bath design their own firework safety posters, educates children about the importance of safety when around fireworks.

All posters were judged on the important fireworks safety message and artistic merit. The judges for this year’s competition were Councillor Michelle O’Doherty, Mayor of Bath, Meghann Elvin, Children & Young Persons Manager from Avon Fire & Rescue, Emma Grist, Intervention Facilitator also from Avon Fire & Rescue, Paul Suchley, The Rotary Club of Bath and Bath Building Society CEO, Richard Ingle and Marketing Manager, Tiffany Hardie-Albutt.

The Rotary Club of Bath Fireworks display will take place on Saturday 2nd November at The Recreation Ground. All children who entered the competition have been given access to a voucher that can be exchanged for a free child ticket to the display when purchasing an adult ticket.

The winners of the five categories were given a money voucher to open a Bath Building Society savings account, an art set and a Bath Building Society goody bag. Congratulations to all the winners!
