Charity Awards

The beautiful City of Bath has been home to the Society since 1904. With a team of over 80 colleagues living in the region, we have many personal connections in the local community and appreciate first hand the great work of the amazing charities, community services and volunteers supporting our local community.

We are proud to support these local charities and community groups, and our annual Charity Awards programme is a big part of our commitment to the local community. In 2025 we are really happy to support some amazing projects in our local community through the work of these charities and community services:

“Having local support really helps both from a financial point of view and with marketing. The support from Bath Building Society allowed us to buy the consumables to support our HomeKIT project which enables us to donate tested and checked small electrical items to those in need, continuing our mission of reuse, repurpose and repair. Thank you for such valuable and important support.”

Stand Up To Violence -workshop attendees

“We are grateful for the funding received from Bath Building Society Charity Awards. This has helped us deliver even more impactful workshops aimed at preventing violence, as well as working to create safer communities for all. The Society’s support has enabled us to engage with young people across the region, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to make positive choices and help build a culture of non-violence. We cover various anti-violence subjects and have seen increased demand for our anti-weapons and knife crime workshops to help raise awareness.”

Bath Foodbank - people volunteering

“The funds from Bath Building Society are helping us at a time when demand for emergency food support is high. We are seeing around 50 new households per month coming for the first time to our Foodbanks through referrals from a range of agencies. In addition to the provision of emergency food, we have also continued to provide activity vouchers for families in the school holidays, toy vouchers at Christmas, warm kits to help people stay well in winter and access to brand-new books. We also continue working with Citizens Advice and Clean Slate to host advisors at our Foodbank sessions, helping people work towards breaking the cycle of poverty.”
