Apprenticeships

If you’re a local student looking for an apprenticeship in financial services and are interested to find out more about how it works, you’ve come to the right place. We’ve answered some popular questions and you can hear from people like you who have already completed our programme.

  • Why apply for an apprenticeship with Bath Building Society?

Starting an apprenticeship at Bath Building Society allows you the opportunity to work with a whole host of people to consult and collaborate with. We provide opportunities to learn and develop, on-the-job training and dedicated mentors to kickstart your career.

  • What apprenticeships do you offer?

Our current Apprentice is studying Level 3 Digital Marketing Standard alongside working with our marketing team.

Previous Apprentices have gained Level 3 NVQ in Business Administration and spent time working in all business areas from our Branches to the savings and mortgage teams at Head Office.

  • Development

As well as gaining a recognised qualification, we’ll build and develop your skill set in financial services. In addition to this, there is a wealth of knowledge from other members of the Society to share with, trouble-shoot and learn from.

  • How do I apply?

You can join at any age from 16 years onwards (though you can apply at 15). The minimum requirements differ based on the type of apprenticeship you’re applying for and will be detailed in the role description.

All future Apprenticeships will be advertised on the website.

Wiktoria Setera
Work experience and apprenticeship

“During my placement I was lucky to have worked with different departments and really enjoyed my time in both the mortgage department and working in the Branches. I was given a project to complete during my placement which I presented to the Branch Manager at the end of the week. After my placement, I kept in contact with the Society and when an apprenticeship opportunity became available, I had no hesitation in applying. I was successful in my application to become an apprentice customer service officer. Within three months a full-time position became available and I was made a permanent member of staff.”

Ben King
Work experience and apprenticeship with mortgage team.

“Following a couple of weeks of work experience with the Bath Building Society mortgage and savings teams I was lucky enough to secure a junior admin role with the mortgage admin team, working on a part-time basis while completing my studies. During that time an opportunity came up in the mortgage sales team and I applied and got the job. I now work closely with the Business Development Managers in the intermediary team and recently passed my CeMAP 2 & 3 qualifications.”
