Savings Proposition Associate
What does a good day look like in your role?
I start every day making sure I am up to date with news and updates in the UK savings market. The overall focus of my role is to support the Savings Proposition Manager to build and improve our savings product range to ensure they are competitive, valuable and rewarding for our Members.
Why did you apply to work at Bath Building Society?
I joined Bath Building Society shortly after finishing university. I was drawn to the idea of joining a company that has been established for over 100 years and is located in the heart of a great city filled with friendly locals. The fact that the building society is a mutual organisation also played a key role in my decision. Being smaller than the bigger banks means we can give a more personal service to members and as a colleague there are more opportunities to grow and make a difference.
What’s the best thing about working for the Society?
For me, the best thing about working here is the abundance of opportunities to be part of new and exciting projects. As a smaller business, we get to spend time with experienced and skilled colleagues, learning from them in ways that wouldn’t be possible in a larger organisation.
How would you describe the culture?
I think our work culture is welcoming and progressive. The Society has an ambitious strategy with lots of change activity over the next few years, which creates a great environment for learning and development and pursuing your career ambitions.
What does your role involve?
My role as Savings Proposition Associate is to assist with managing the growth and pricing of the savings book, as well as the effective management of associated operational risks and costs. I am also responsible for all aspects of product development, including building, testing, and launching.
How has your career developed at the Society?
I joined in late 2023 as a Customer Service Officer in the savings team. As part of this role I was asked to assist the Business Change team with the development of our online savings platform and mobile app during a six-month secondment. In 2025, I was promoted to Savings Proposition Associate, where I aim to build on the excellent work the proposition team has accomplished.
What’s been your biggest achievement/proudest moment so far?
My biggest achievement so far has been my work in enhancing our online platform. We have made significant strides to modernise our customer journey, moving away from a paper application process, providing a better experience for our members and working towards our sustainability goals.
What’s not in the job description, but something you’d tell a friend if they were thinking about applying for a job at Bath Building Society?
I’d say it’s a great place to work, our newly refurbished Queen Square head office is a joy to work in with modern technology and facilities as well as offering great views of Bath, especially from the top floor!
