We believe that investing in our colleagues is essential to our success and our culture. We have a structured approach to providing continuous learning and development opportunities that empower every team member to reach their potential and build meaningful, rewarding careers with us.

We offer a range of learning options to inspire and help our colleagues grow, from mandatory compliance training to development sessions designed to address skills gaps, and Leadership Programmes to equip our future leaders with the skills and competencies required to succeed. 

Whatever your role in the Society, we will support you on your career path with a personal development plan to help achieve your goals. Our Performance Management Framework is closely linked to our approach to learning and development, creating a cycle of growth through ongoing feedback and coaching. This framework includes regular one-to-one meetings where colleagues and managers set development goals, track progress, and identify new learning opportunities. Through this integrated approach, our colleagues are not only supported in achieving their current objectives but are also encouraged to acquire skills that prepare them for future roles within the Society. We’re building a team of high-performing individuals who are as committed to learning as they are to achieving excellence.

External qualifications

“I joined the Society with a Chartered Institute of Marketing Level 3 qualification in digital marketing and now thanks to the learning and development programme at Bath I’m studying towards Level 4 alongside my role as a Junior Content Manager. It means I’m able to apply what I learn in real time to support the marketing team.
