Volunteering

Volunteering and giving our time to the local community is a big part of our mutual heritage at the Society.

We believe in giving back to the community and making a positive impact on the world around us. Volunteering plays a big role in this mission, and we encourage all colleagues to get involved and contribute time and energy to support local charities and community groups.

Volunteering allows us to strengthen our connections in the local area to make a real difference. Each colleague is offered two dedicated volunteering days each year, providing an opportunity for skill development, personal growth and the chance to give back, helping us to live up to our commitment to the community.

Here's what we've been up to recently...

Volunteering at MoreTrees - planting trees

1/4 MoreTrees - Tree planting with MoreTrees BANES. Society colleagues put their green fingers to good use planting in local public spaces for the benefit of the local community.

2/4 Bath FoodBank - Worked with the Bath Foodbank to help sort food donations to provide emergency food to local people in crisis.

3/4 MoreTrees - In addition to improving local public spaces with MoreTrees, we are the first business in the city to host a tree nursery on its premises. Branch colleagues oversee the nursery growing crab apple and oak trees from saplings.

4/4 Mentoring Plus - We supported Mentoring Plus to spruce up the Riverside Youth Hub including painting, outdoor cleaning and creating a grotto for the Christmas fundraiser.
